Scientific advisory board

CTcon gains direct access to the latest developments in business management research and teaching through its scientific advisors in Europe and the USA. The know-how derived from the research findings of the advisors are integrated in innovative, practice-relevant solutions to the benefit of our clients. Currently, the advisors focus their research on topics such as Customer Relationship Management (CRM), Controlling & Accounting, and Corporate Governance.

Center for Controlling & Management (CCM) at the WHU Otto Beisheim School of Management

With the aim of continuously developing current management themes and in order to promote best practices, CTcon engages in intensive knowledge exchanges with the individuals responsible for the controlling function at some of the top companies from different industries. Together with BSH (Bosch und Siemens Hausgeraete, Bosch and Siemens Household Appliances), Deutsche Post, Deutsche Telekom, Lufthansa, and Metro, CTcon is a founding member of the Center for Controlling & Management (CCM) at the WHU.

About a third of the companies listed on the DAX-30 index are now represented in the CCM by their top corporate controllers. In addition to working groups and personal contacts, publications on current management issues form an important element of the CCM.

CTcon is also active in additional working circles and interest groups, for instance as a founding member of the International Group of Controlling (IGC).

About Controlling

In German, the expression "controlling" refers to concepts known in English as "management control", "managerial control", and "controllership" (cf. Anthony, 1960). Most large companies and a growing number of non-profit organizations, governmental institutions and even churches in Germany have "Controlling" departments. These departments typically support management through activities such as gathering, analyzing and providing information, coordinating planning and budgeting (e.g. by providing guidance), and monitoring financial and non-financial performance.
